Mr. UV Clear Putty from Mr. Hobby (GSI Creos) is a transparent UV-curing putty developed for scale modelling, hobby and craft applications. Unlike conventional modelling putties, it is based on a UV-curing resin that remains workable until exposed to ultraviolet light or direct sunlight. This allows the material to be shaped and positioned without the time constraints associated with chemically curing fillers.

Its relatively high viscosity helps the putty stay in place, making it well suited for filling gaps as well as building up thicker transparent structures in multiple layers. Once cured, it forms a clear, durable surface with minimal tackiness that can be sanded, carved or otherwise machined. Additional layers adhere well to previously cured material, allowing larger shapes to be created gradually.

One of its distinguishing features is its compatibility with water-based hobby paints. Transparent colours or water-based colour concentrates can be mixed directly into the resin to create custom-tinted clear putty. This makes it particularly useful for producing coloured lenses, lights, gemstones and other transparent details for scale models.

In addition to filling and shaping work, the putty can also be used for bonding clear plastic parts or for creating decorative, glass-like effects when combined with foil stickers. Its versatility makes it suitable for scale models, miniatures, dioramas and a wide range of creative hobby projects.
